Jeffrey Van Maren is a landscape architect with more than 25 years of experience. His projects have included a botanical garden, master planned communities, health resort, and custom residences. He has extensive background in all levels of project development. He directs every phase from design through completion of construction, and coordinates the efforts of contractors. Excellent technical qualifications complement a strong creative vision in the design of aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces.
Mr. Van Maren offers a wide range of construction and renovation options. Some of these include walls, paving, lighting, irrigation, pools and water features, ramadas, fire pits and barbeques. Custom fabricated metal features such as gates, screens and trellises are also available for design. All of these elements are integrated with site-specific custom planting design.
Flexible and responsive to his client’s needs, Mr. Van Maren works to transform desires into three-dimensional space.
He excels in developing the skeleton of each project: the hardscape — the paving, walls, fountains, etc., and integrating them with low-water-use or oasis plantings. Mr. Van Maren’s strong design/build background means that his work is experienced, efficient, highly practical, and cost-effective.

A long-time resident of Tucson, Mr. Van Maren feels a real connection to the desert. “I like the simplicity of the desert, and try to carry that into my design,” he says. “Even lush environments can integrate well with the natural desert aesthetic.”
Mr. Van Maren brings a fine sense of detail and intimacy to projects from the smallest private garden to massive public spaces. “My goal is to create environments which nourish individuals and communities. I try to help clients to exist more dynamically within their own surroundings; to enhance their satisfaction with that felt space.”
